Question: I Don’t Know What I Want?

Have you ever considered that wanting something to make you happy is a sure way to make yourself miserable? Can happiness be created by something outside of you? Does happiness exist in the car, the house, the job, the spouse? The idea that happiness can be created outside of you is an ill conceived notion. But, can you be without want? “I’ll be happy when…” How many of you start your sentences (or your thoughts) with those words? When will you be happy? When you: Own a Ferrari? Have a child? Pay off your house? Why not be happy right now? Why not find joy in what you’re doing at the present moment?
When you make the present moment the focal point of your life, your ability to enjoy what you do increases dramatically. You don’t have to wait for something to happen in your life in order to find happiness and experience joy.
