Happy New Year – Setting (and Achieving) Goals

Goal Setting
How often have you started the by making New Year’s Resolutions only to abandon them within the first week?  Statistics say that is what happens to 90% of us.

An unknown author said, “In absence of clearly defined goals, we become strangely loyal to performing daily acts of trivia.” I was introduced to a seven-step, sure fire way to set and achieve my goals.  It’s a process and must be followed in a systematic way.  If you would like to set goals and achieve them, try the following process that has worked for me.  Then, let me know Read the rest of this entry »

Should I Quit or Keep Going?

Quitters Never Win

Are you on the right path? Should you quit or stick it out? Are you frustrated thinking you’re working and working and, yet, not accomplishing anything? Should you keep going…persevere? Or, would it be better to give up. Maybe the universe is giving you a sign that you’re going in the wrong direction.

Well, those are questions that have come to my mind recently…and, frequently as I pursue my entrepreneurial path and financial goals. I get up each morning with a well-defined “to do” list. I accomplish each of those tasks and cross them off one by one. I get up Read the rest of this entry »

Leadership Success

It’s that time of year when we all look back and evaluate.  I’m no exception.  I am sitting here attempting to figure out what happened during the last 365 days.  Where was I on New Year’s Eve 2009?  What successes have I enjoyed since then?  What about the challenges…there been a few.  More importantly, where do I want to be 365 days from now?  What leads to success?

I continue to be driven by a desire to help others.  For me it is all about service.  I truly believe I help myself by helping others.  Of course, helping others just for the payoff won’t work.  I find myself constantly looking for ways I can take the knowledge and experience I’ve gained throughout my life and use it to be of service to others. Want to Learn to Speak Spanish?

better day learn spanish

Every once in a while I come across a story that really makes me feel great….here’s one of them. Ricardo Gonzales, Executive Director of Bilingual America, has started the Claro Initiative…a program that provides critical social need providers with high-quality Spanish training materials at no charge. By equipping medical staff, ministers, teachers, law enforcement officials and others with Spanish he aims to create an environment in our country for greater depths of influence in the Latino community.
